Ash Kwak Lukashevsky is a visual artist born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She currently lives between Tongva (Los Angeles) and Kānaka (Honolulu) land.
She uses illustration and visual art as a tool to strengthen social movements for collective liberation— racial justice, climate justice, mental health and LGBTQIA+ liberation. She believes that in order to tear down harmful systems, we need to be able to envision a world beyond them. She is trying to draw what that world looks like.
Her work includes ANTIRACIST BABY (Kokila/Penguin 2020, written by Ibram X. Kendi) and SNOW ANGEL, SAND ANGEL (Make Me A World/Random House 2022 written by Lois Yamanaka) .
