Ford is the author/illustrator of How the Cookie Crumbled (Atheneum, 2017) and The Marvelous Thing That Came from a Spring (Atheneum, 2016). He is the illustrator of countless well known children's picture books, such as Mr. Ferris and His Wheel (HMH, 2014); Soldier Song: A True Story of the Civil War (Disney-Hyperion, 2017); and Itch! (HMH, 2018) and Rotten! (HMH, 2019) by Anita Sanchez. He is also the author and illustrator of The Mysterious Messenger (Macmillan, 2020). 

Ford received his MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. His illustrations have been recognized by The Society of Illustrators and The Society of Publication Designers, and his books have been selected by The Junior Library Guild, The Society of Illustrators' Original Art, the Bank Street Cook Prize Honor, the NSTA Best Stem Book, and others. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn.
