Henriette Rostrup is a Danish novelist, born and raised in Copenhagen. She has worked in Danish and international publishing, from Gyldendal Publishers in Copenhagen to the Melanie Jackson Agency in New York City. Rostrup has written a middle grade series as well as four adult novels in Danish. Several stories from her critically acclaimed collection Brood have been translated into English and published in Coal Hill Review and Parhelion Literary Magazine, and her work can also be found in The Bombay Review and World Literature Today. She is a Pushcart Prize nominee. She has written an opera libretto for Den Fynske Opera and the play Fireburn for TeaterOperate in cooperation with Bådteatret in Copenhagen as well as the graphic novel The Lake, which was nominated for the Ping Prize. She is the recipient of grants from The Danish Arts Council, King Christian the 10th Foundation, and the Krak’s Foundation.
