Leslie Vedder is the author of the Indie-bestselling The Bone Spindle series with Razorbill/Penguin Teen, which debuted with The Bone Spindle (2022), followed by The Severed Thread (2023), with the finale The Cursed Rose published on February 6, 2024.
Her debut middle grade novel, THE LABYRINTH OF SOULS, is forthcoming from Razorbill on February 11, 2025, and its follow up, THE NOWHERE BEAST, will publish in February 2026.
Leslie writes YA fantasy with girl heroes and adventurers. Her passion is crafting stories set in kingdoms without prejudice against LGBTQ characters or women, where anyone can be a hero if they’ve got the drive. Her wife, who is her first reader, is the publisher and editor-in-chief at the nonprofit and independent press Dzanc Books, where Leslie often volunteers. Leslie has a BA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University and now lives in Colorado. A huge sci-fi and fantasy fan, she named her spoiled cats Fox Mulder and Duncan MacLeod.
