M. B. Goffstein (1940-2017) was an American writer and illustrator of books for children and adults. She was the recipient of three New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Books of the Year, Special Recognition from the Jane Addams Children’s Book Award, and a Caldecott Honor for Fish for Supper. Known to friends as Brooke, she was among the most original author-artists to ever create books for children. She never followed trends or sought commercial success, always believing in the value of work only she could create. Her books are available in the US, Japan and many other markets.
“A book by M.B. Goffstein is a beautifully simple and simply beautiful thing.” — New York Times Book Review
