Nazzy Pakpour is a children's book author, scientist, and queer Iranian-American mother of two witty and wonderful kids. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and now live in Woodland, California. She loves bugs of all varieties, whether they are six-legged or microscopic. She once spent a summer doing tarantula feedings at the Smithsonian Insect Zoo!

Nazzy received my BS in Entomology from the University of California Davis and her doctorate in Microbiology, Virology, and Parasitology from University of Pennsylvania. She is passionate about teaching science and worked for a number of years as a professor before moving to the biotech sector as a research scientist. She spends her free time volunteering with the Bohart Museum of Entomology and writing books that make people itch while they read them!

Her debut picture book is PLEASE DON’T BITE ME (Flying Eye, 2024).
