Born in China but now living in New York City, Qing currently specializes in watercolor illustration but experiments artistically whenever she can. She likes to sprinkle heart and humor in everything she does.
Qing earned a B.F.A. in Illustration from Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore and a Master of Art in Teaching from School of Visual Arts, New York. Her work has been recognized by Society of Illustrators NY and Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators NJ and shown at the Brandywine Museum in Pennsylvania. Her debut author-illustrator project, “Rainbow Shopping” was selected as one of NPR’s “Books We Love”, NYPL’s “Best Books of the Year” and Bank Street College Irma Black Silver Medal among other recognition.
